Well this is a little late in posting but we mananged to leave our camera up in Laketown after the deer hunt. But never fear..we were able to get together with everyone (Frank, Amy, Jim, Becky, and Ken & Kathryn) for lunch on Sat. and they were sweet enough to bring it down. It was a nice lunch and so fun to see everyone. Anyways. The deer hunt was..."fun".. it snowed and was very cold but Tom and I rigged up the trailer something fierce. We had 2 twin mattresses a space heater and our DVD player. My favorite memory was Tom, and I hanging out in the trailer watching "Finding Nemo" with the kids. It was so fun and luckily Tom didn't get a deer. His cousin did get a deer, and after shooting 2 of it's legs off finally took it down. The guys had to drag it up a mountain and it took them almost 2 hours. Tom was so tired when he got back to camp...and so grateful it wasn't his deer. Maybe someday. Riley was so funny when he saw the deer he just kept saying..."poor deer". He was even saying it on the ride home. It was a fun weekend.
This is 20 minutes after Brooke got out of the bath. She was left alone for about 2 minutes. We are trying to ween her from her binkie. I guess she was looking thru drawers for one and instead found a nice full tube of cortisone. I guess she is punishing me for not giving her binkie to her. She sure did...too funny...right?
It has just been one of those days. It seems like everything that could go wrong has. I woke up early and had everyone ready to take Riley to preschool. This is not a small event considering I had 2 extra babies (darling Luke, and Kate). We got all loaded in the car which in and of it's self was amusing. 4 carseats...It was comical on so many levels. (It is now official Tom and I need a bigger car if we are going to have another baby anytime soon.) Anyways we are all loaded ready to go 8:35am and the car won't start. We try and try and I am not amused. No luck. Tom is at school so he can't help me. I turn to Riley and say "Riley please give a prayer that the car will start." He says "ok, momma" and off he goes. I'm thinking this will be great we will pray and it will start. He finishes with his cute little "amen" and I turn the key...Nothing. I guess this was the day I get to teach the lesson that sometimes the answer is "no" when it comes to prayer. I unload all 4 kids out of the car and truck back inside. I then weigh my options:
1: Miss School, I couldn't do this to Riley he already missed last week because of our Vacation and then UEA.
2: Walk there, it's only 1/2 mile away and very doable problem is 4 kids-1 stroller. Not a good Combo.
3: Call up a neighbor. This is what I finally decided to do and after 3 phone calls the sweetest lady in my ward came and go Riley.
After that things went ok until Brooke and Kate decided it was WWF night at our house. They were to funny and bouncing off the walls, each other and poor baby Luke. Soon enough Eli and Asia came back from their baby appointment. The found out they are having a little boy and we are too excited. They were able to jumpstart my car and watch Brooke and Luke while I went and picked up Riley from school. I came back and was feeling pretty sorry for myself. I did the dishes while the kids watched curios george and made the ever popular Spiderman Mac-n-cheese. I came to get them to eat lunch and found Brooke out cold. She is so cute with her chubby little fingers and cheeks. I remember that it's all worth it....At least when they're asleep!!!
Well Tom and I went to Denver with Chris and Krystal. It was lots of fun and fufilled one of Tom's dreams to go to a broncos game! We arrived in Denver on Sat. and went to Six Flags "Elitch Gardens". It was a lot smaller than we thought it would be actually quite a bit smaller than even Lagoon. It was fun though Tom could have probably done with out it because he is not a huge "rollercoaster" fan. The next day we were able to go visit my Grandma and Grandpa Briscoes graves. It was nice to visit the graves and the day was so beautiful. Just a nice crisp autumn day. We were the only ones there in the cemetary so it was so serene. Just beautiful. I have always like cemeterys though, I guess I'm just morbid. The next day was Monday and was the Broncos game. It was against the undefeated Ravens. It had been raining all day. We arrived at the Stadium around 4:30. We were able to walk down to the 1st row and watch the guys warm up. Tom and I had 12th row tickets near the north endzone and Chris and Krystal had tickets on the 5th level row 16 or 17. So at halftime I switched seats with Chris so the "Boys" could really enjoy the game. It was so much fun even though we were sopping wet and cold. I loved seeing Tom so happy. He was on cloud nine and I had a pretty fun time too. That night we went back to our hotel and crashed...only to be waken up by a fire alarm (the 2nd time on our trip). Needless to say we didn't sleep very well that night and were all very glad to be in our own beds.
Riley and Brooke are to funny and Tom and I are always thinking of new ways for them too entertain us. Well Brooke has recently started singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". She has modified the words a little from "up above the world so high" to " up and down, up and down". It is too cute and way too funny. Riley on the other hand is more inclined to the religious hymns and has been graceing us with his own rendition of "Follow the prophet". He is to cute and is always good for a laugh. Well Tom and I are off to the Bronco's game this weekend and so I will post some pictures from our vacation. We are lucky enough to get to go with Chris and Krystal, they are so much fun to be with so know a good time will be had. Until we blog again......
What cute girls! They had so much fun together.
We were able to spend this weekend up at a cabin in Brighton, Utah. I won use of it in March at a "successful Mothering" conference and we were finally able to use it. We went up there with my side of the family and were able to have a fun weekend. It was Matt's 11th birthday so we celebrated with cake Saturday night. A good time and relatively safe time was had by all with the exception of the swing accident. I will not elaborate but will just say that I now have bruises covering the entire right side of my body. It was so fun to get together but we are all very happy to be home in our own beds tonight.
